Reverend Ana M. Smith felt the divine call to ministry many years ago, but out of selflessness, she chose to support her husband's journey as a Pastor, Ministers' President, and Moderator of the Bethany Baptist Association of South Jersey. However, as her calling grew undeniable, she embraced it wholeheartedly. Enrolling in the Bethany Baptist School of Biblical Studies, she demonstrated exceptional dedication and emerged as an exemplary student.
Undergoing examination for ordination by numerous ordained individuals, both men and women of God, Minister Ana (at that time) delivered her trial sermon in April 2016. Her ordination took place on a particularly meaningful date, her birthday, November 13, 2016.
Rev. Ana M. Smith has devoted herself to the service of the Ministers' Wives & Ministers' Widows Association with unwavering commitment. She currently holds the esteemed position of the thirteenth President of the New Jersey Association of Ministers' Wives and Ministers' Widows (Interdenominational). Additionally, she serves as the Chairperson of the Honoring the Temple Module at the International Association of Ministers' Wives and Ministers' Widows Incorporated (IAMWMW), as well as fulfilling the role of Recording Secretary for the Ministers' Wives and Ministers' Widows of Burlington County and Vicinity. She has served as Historian of the Northeast Regional Association of Ministers’ Wives & Ministers’ Widows, Inc. and the Chairperson of the Cross-Cultural Committee at the IAMWMW.
For thirty-nine joyful years, she has shared her life with Rev. Curtis W. Smith in a blissful marriage. Together, they are blessed with five daughters, embraced by two loving sons-in-law, and cherished by their three grandsons and five granddaughters.
Rev. Smith is deeply committed to lifelong learning. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, she is currently pursuing a Master's Degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. As a passionate advocate for education, she actively promotes its importance in her community. Reverend Ana finds fulfillment in her role within a Dual Language Immersion (Spanish/English) Kindergarten classroom at Mott Elementary School in Trenton, where she considers herself fortunate to contribute to the growth and development of young minds.
Rev. Smith’s personal prayer is expressed in the lyrics “Order my steps in Your Word, Dear Lord ~Lead me, guide me every day ~Send Your anointing, Father, I pray ~Order my steps in Your Word…”
Her favorite scripture: Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me”
